eBay rises after earnings beat, rosy outlook
eBay rose more than 10% in after-hours trading after it reported financial results that beat Wall Street estimates and gave a cheery forecast for the current quarter.
The company reported adjusted earnings per share of $1.37, compared to the $1.30 analysts polled by FactSet were expecting. It also reported revenue of $2.73 billion, compared to the $2.64 billion analysts were penciling in.
The company said it expects to report third-quarter adjusted earnings per share of between $1.29 and $1.34, compared to the $1.30 analysts are currently expecting. It also expects revenue of $2.69 billion to $2.74 billion, higher than the analyst consensus of $2.66 billion.
