Meta is reporting that AI content made up just 1% of election misinformation in recent elections around the world, including the US. That’s welcome news for those of us who feared bad actors would use generative AI’s capabilities to sway election outcomes.
It’s worth noting that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is also trying to get on the good side of President-elect Donald Trump — who had said the social-media head should get “life in prison” for allegedly using the platform against him in the 2020 race — and is even seeking an “active role” in the administration’s tech policy.
Of course, he’s going to have a lot of work ahead of him to compete with First Buddy Elon Musk, who has a long-standing beef with Zuckerberg.
