Apple keeps moving Vision Pro executives over to Siri

Apple is moving Vision Pro creator Mike Rockwell to a new role in charge of its Siri virtual assistant after losing faith in AI head John Giannandrea, Bloomberg reports. Earlier this year, company leadership also moved another person who’d worked on the Vision Pro, Kim Vorrath, to the division to whip it into shape and serve as a top deputy to Giannandrea.

Siri, and the AI iPhone it’s supposed to power, have languished as Apple has fallen behind its peers in the AI space. Notably, the shake-up also suggests that Apple is pivoting resources from the Vision Pro, which has largely been a commercial flop, though Bloomberg says the company has increasingly been referring to the headset device internally as an “AI product.”
