A new government study in the UK tracked 20,000 civil service employees using generative-AI tools for their administrative tasks over three months. Researchers found that on average, using the AI tools saved each worker 26 minutes per day, or about two weeks per year.

In a related study, the Alan Turing Institute found that AI could be used for up to 41% of government work.
