What ChatGPT won’t say is sometimes just as interesting as what it does say. A hubbub has been bubbling up online over why the AI chatbot seemingly refuses to mention certain names, including David Mayer, Brian Hood, Jonathan Turley, Jonathan Zittrain, David Faber, and Guido Scorza. Tech Crunch has seemingly got to the bottom of it and the reason is less exciting than the conspiracy theories: these are all people who, for one reason or another — safety, sharing the same name as a criminal, simply valuing privacy — have asked OpenAI and other search engines to restrict information about them.
