As Nvidia’s gaming division enjoys a resurgence, CEO Jensen Huang breaks down the company’s work on Nintendo’s Switch 2

For a limited time only: Nvidia is a gaming company again.

Less than a week after the AI powerhouse posted record gaming revenue of $3.76 billion in its most recent quarter, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is on Nintendo’s YouTube page talking about the Switch 2.

The console, which is set to launch on Thursday, June 5, contains an Nvidia-powered chip that Huang says is “unlike anything we’ve built before.”

“It brings together three breakthroughs: the most advanced graphics ever in a mobile device, full hardware ray tracing, high dynamic range for brighter highlights and deeper shadows, and an architecture that supports backward compatibility,” Huang said.

Nintendo appears to be preparing for monster sales (on possibly limited supply), having reportedly shipped “out of stock” signs to some retailers. The gaming giant expects to sell 15 million consoles this fiscal year.
