Party’s over, folks

Balloon and bad wig supercenter Party City has blown out its last candle. The 40-year-old retailer is said to be closing down all of its roughly 800 stores in a move that CNN reports blindsided employees. Party City filed for bankruptcy early last year and was delisted from the NYSE.

The chain’s closure comes a day after similar retail news out of Big Lots. The discount chain said yesterday that it’s closing all of its remaining stores (around 960).
