Ripple’s XRP shot up 86% over the past week as experts predicted the crypto would benefit from an expected change of leadership at the SEC.

In doing so, XRP, which plays a role in Ripple’s cross-border payments offering, passed stablecoin giant tether to become the third-largest cryptocurrency by market cap.
