Nvidia rallies on ambitions to bring AI into the real world
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang unveiled new gaming chips and talked up AI’s capabilities and the scope for integrating this technology more deeply into the physical world during his keynote speech at CES 2025 on Monday evening.
Shares of the company jumped more than 3% in the premarket, bringing its year-to-date gains above 13% less than four trading days into the year.

Nvidia is creating a “world foundational model,” dubbed Cosmos (which is available on GitHub under an open-model license), which it hopes will do for robotics what ChatGPT did for language. This, of course, would open up new frontiers of possible growth for the $3 trillion-plus company, with an eye toward revolutionizing robotics and manufacturing.
“It’s really about teaching the AI — not about generating creative content, but teaching the AI to understand the physical world,” Huang said.
