Palantir “to benefit from a tidal wave of federal spending”

Wedbush tech analyst and Wall Street’s most flamboyant dresser Dan Ives is out with a new bullish screed on Palantir, the company he’s taken to calling the “Messi of AI,” hiking his price target from $75 to $90, a roughly 15% premium to where the stock is currently trading.

He writes:

“PLTR continues to see unprecedented demand for [AI Platform] based on our recent checks across both commercial and government landscapes by taking AI solutions that solve meaningful problems across organizations at enterprise scale, driving new customer conversions and existing deal expansions. With an enhanced product portfolio of advanced AI capabilities that will be safely, securely, and responsibly deployed for the US government, PLTR also continues generating further momentum within the federal sector across various agencies.

To this point we believe the Trump Administration represents an additional tailwind for PLTR with AI initiatives within the US government including the DoD accelerating as AI remains a strategic focus on the federal front. The stepped up AI investments now being seen under the Trump Administration with Project Stargate should benefit Palantir on the government vertical as more focus within the Beltway heads down the strategic AI infrastructure build-out stage. In essence, Palantir is in the sweet spot to benefit from a tidal wave of federal spending on AI.”

SpaceX gets a wave of bullish ratings from Wall Street analysts

SpaceX received more than a dozen positive analyst calls on Tuesday — including from major Wall Street banks — as they initiate coverage on Elon Musk’s space and AI company.

SpaceX went public on June 12 at a $2.2 trillion valuation, the largest debut in history. While the company hasn’t yet posted a profit, it seems to have convinced Wall Street that it will get there and grow its valuation on the way.

Of the at least 17 analysts that gave a rating on Tuesday, all but one gave it a “buy” or “outperform” rating. MoffettNathanson was "neutral."

The ratings come as SpaceX joined the Nasdaq 100 index, a benchmark tech-heavy basket of companies that underpins millions of portfolios. The inclusion adds built-in demand for the stock from index funds and ETFs.

Still, SpaceX fell more than 5% on Tuesday amid a broader sell-off, and is currently effectively flat from its opening price of $150 a share.
