S&P 500 snaps longest run without back-to-back losses in nearly 70 years
If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.
That had been the mantra for the S&P 500, which hadn’t posted consecutive daily drops since the market rout in early September. Until today.
Monday’s 0.2% decline for the benchmark US stock index was followed by a less than 0.1% retreat on Tuesday that snaps the streak of 31 sessions without back-to-back losses.
So ends the longest such run since July 1955.
