Tesla rises as Musk reposts some Trump-adjacent tweets
After ending last week with a high-profile breakup between Tesla CEO Elon Musk and President Donald Trump, the stock was struggling again this morning on news of analyst downgrades, sales declines in China, and reports that said Trump wasn’t looking to repair the relationship. However, things seem to have turned around a bit, with the stock closing up nearly 5% amid optimism about the robotaxi launch this week and signs that Musk might be trying to cuddle back up to Trump.
Musk, for his part, deleted some of his more incendiary tweets over the weekend, including ones linking the president to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He’s also been retweeting Trump and Vice President JD Vance, and generally showing support for the administration’s actions in LA.
