Tesla will pause production for the second time in two months
Tesla is telling employees that it’s pausing production at its Gigafactory Texas for the week of July 4, Business Insider reports. The factory is where Tesla produces its bestselling Model Y and its struggling Cybertruck. The company did the same thing back in May, in addition to closing earlier this year when it switched over production lines to make the new Model Ys.
Tesla told workers the stoppage was necessary to do maintenance on production lines that would help ramp up production. However, it’s possible that it’s due to depressed demand. Analyst consensus expects Tesla’s 2025 vehicle sales to decline for a second year in a row.
