Elon Musk posts about Trump more than Tesla these days
Elon Musk used to tweet about his companies. Now, he mostly posts about politics on his social media platform, X, formerly Twitter. In a fascinating visualization, the Wall Street Journal examined 300,000 of Musk’s own words on X and found that the content of his missives has essentially moved from Tesla to Trump, as his political tweets these days far outnumber ones about his public company.
In July, about a fifth of Musk’s posts were about Tesla and SpaceX, while nearly 60% of were about politics, the media, current events or cultural issues, the Journal found.
Musk’s ownership of and behavior on X has become a potential liability for his other companies, whose interests can be at odds with his politics.
