Tesla falls, just like its European sales
Tesla is trading down 1.5% premarket on news that sales continue to plummet across Europe — what CEO Elon Musk has called “our weakest market.” In May, Tesla sales were down double digits in Portugal, France, Sweden, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Spain, Reuters reports.
These numbers follow a terrible first quarter and first month of the second quarter in Europe. Tesla’s sales on the continent this year through April were the lowest they’ve been since 2022.
Norway, however, provided a rare exception to the dismal European data. There, Tesla sales rose 213% to 2,600.
