Defense spending explodes

Federal government spending on the military industrial complex surged at an annualized rate of almost 15% in Q3, the biggest jump since Q2 2003, during the peak of the US invasion of Iraq.

The ongoing provision of military matériel to Israel and Ukraine likely contributed. (Typically those donations of US equipment are replaced by new production by American defense firms.)
