Say cheese: Mice sit atop the S&P 500 gainers list
It’s a red-letter day for corporate rodents, as Charles River Laboratories and Disney sit atop the S&P 500 shortly before 11 a.m. ET on Wednesday.
Charles River Laboratories — a provider of customized lab rats, mice, gerbils, hamsters, and guinea pigs for scientific and pharmaceutical research, among other services — is seeing its best day in about 13 years after reporting earnings and agreeing to a deal pushed by activist investors to shake up its board and review its businesses.
And Disney , sometimes referred to as “the Mouse” because of you-know-who, is surging on strong results in its parks business and profitability in streaming.
(Look, we have to watch the markets all day, every day. It’s little things like this that make it all worth it.)
